PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk



On December 10, 2017. We officially inaugurated the maiden voyage of subsidized Jakarta-Surabaya long distance ferry, inauguration which was done by the Inspector General of Minister of Transportation, Mr Wahyu Satrio Utomo, at PT IKT’s Domestic Terminal in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta. This is PT IKT’s form of commitment in support to the government program for expanding and smoothening distribution of inter-region domestic sea line in Java (Jakarta-Surabaya).

The official opening was indicated by the serine blowing and ribbon cutting at PT IKT’s Domestic Terminal. Mr Chiefy Adi K., President Director of PT IKT was also there hosting the ceremony along with some high rank officials from the Ministry of Transport, and maritime and harbor organizations around Tanjung Priok.

The maiden voyage was made by PT Jagad Zamrud Khatulistiwa as owner and operator of KM RoRo Prayasti, and PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry as owner of KMP Ferrindo 5 which would serve the Jakarta-Surabaya route. PT Jagad Zamrud Khatulistiwa works in collaboration with PT IKT, which is the subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) within which IKT provides Pier and Stacking Services at the Domestic Terminal in Tanjung Priok and Maspion Terminal in Gresik. Meanwhile, in terms of operation, the collaboration is in the form of transport and cargo distribution service.
Some benefits received by users of Jakarta- Surabaya logistic line made available by PT IKT, MKO MTKI, PT JZK and PT ASDP  are, among others :

  1. Vessels carry larger volume of cargo compared to trucks;
  2. Reduction in volume of land vehicles which leads to decrease of land traffic jam.
  3. Less shipment cost due to cargo carried by the vessels consisting of products of Maspion Group in Gresik and Surabaya;
  4. Serving as hub for Bali and Nusantara Tenggara cargo destination.
  5. Application of package tariff settled in a single door.
  6. Less cargo damage due to lower risk compared to car carrier scheme.
  7. Availability of international standard terminal facility and Pre-Delivery Center (PDC)
  8. Integration with CARTOS system which is capable of monitoring and tracking through the web ranging from cargo arrival at the Domestic Terminal Gate (Jakarta) up to Maspion Car Terminal (Gresik);
  9. Reduced consumption/subsidy of fuel.
  10. Reduce cost of government’s cost for land road.

In the future, such operation collaboration is expected to give positive impact to the national industry especially that of East Java region. With regards to that, the smooth flow of transport of goods resulting from the opening of this route will give positive to the two regions’ economic I addition to reduction of logistics cost in a whole.
