2301 BYD UNITS ARRIVE AT IPCC READY TO PAVE IN THE HOMELAND

Jakarta 21 June 2024. PT Indonesia Vehicle Terminal Tbk (IPCC) handles imports for the electric car manufacturer from China, Build Your Dreams (BYD). It was recorded that 2301 BYD units landed smoothly at the IPCC starting from the first week of June, to be precise on June 3 2024 in the last 3 ship visits. This number experienced a very drastic increase of around 15 times compared to the previous delivery in December 2023 of 154 units.

IPCC Director of Operations and Engineering Bagus Dwipoyono said the number of imports for BYD cars in 2024 will increase compared to the previous year. As of January 2023, a total of 2479 BYD CBU (completely built up) units have been handled by the IPCC. "We estimate that vehicle import and export activities in the middle of this year will increase, especially for electric cars, especially brands from China which do not yet have factories in Indonesia. "What's more, BYD has only received recommendations for import permits from the government for approximately 20% of their total production capacity (CBU)," said Bagus.

BYD's production capacity is calculated at 150 thousand units per year, so the number of vehicles that can be imported reaches 15-30 thousand units per year. For this reason, IPCC optimizes vehicle loading and unloading services that are integrated at IPCC to support automakers' smooth distribution of their vehicles.

Bagus continued, in mid-2024 the company is preparing an integrated loading and unloading digital system (PTOS-C) where in its development IPCC synergizes with Pelindo's subsidiary, namely ILCS. The system will be soft launched in Semester II this year to anticipate the peak in vehicle imports and exports which is predicted to occur in October 2024. "With the enthusiasm to continue to develop in terms of operational, commercial and financial services, we invite automakers to choose IPCC is a one stop solution in vehicle terminal services that together contribute to developing the Indonesian economy."

Just for additional information, IPCC has served four BYD car models that will be marketed in Indonesia. The four BYD cars are BYD Seal, Atto3, Dolphin, and Yangwang U8.

"In an effort to improve vehicle loading and unloading services, especially in terms of vehicle or cargo security for automakers who have trusted us, the Company has implemented In House Training ISPS Code Model Course 3.25 on Increasing Security Awareness for All People Who Are Active and or Work in Port Facilities. "The ISPS Code Model Course 3.25 training has entered the 3rd batch of 4 batches which are planned to be implemented in 2024," concluded Bagus.
