Jakarta, January 22 2024. PT Indonesia Vehicle Terminal Tbk (IPCC) warmly welcomes the presence of a newcomer to the Indonesian automotive world, Build Your Dream or BYD, which was officially marketed in Indonesia on January 18 2024. The electric vehicle company from China has launched 3 electric cars, namely, BYD Seal, BYD Atto3 and BYD Dolphin. 158 BYD units entered Indonesia via the IPCC terminal.
“We are proud of our involvement in making the electric vehicle export chain successful in Indonesia. "We consistently support the Indonesian government's breakthrough in bringing in new automotive products from abroad to be marketed domestically, especially electric-based vehicles, where the Indonesian government officially supports building an electric vehicle ecosystem in the country." Said Sugeng Mulyadi, as Main Director of the IPCC.
As is known, the Indonesian Government has issued Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019 concerning the Acceleration of the Battery Electric Vehicle Program for Road Transportation. This is in line with the statement by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto at the first launch of BYD in Indonesia. Through a video presentation, he stated that BYD's investment in Indonesia was US$ 1.3 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 20 trillion.
