Jakarta, 6 December 2024. PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk (IPCC) held a handover ceremony for a grant of narcotics inspection equipment from the People's Republic of China to the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. The event which took place at the IPCC Headquarters was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Wang Lutong, Head of BNN RI Marthinus Hukom, S.I.K., M.Sc., as well as a number of BNN Middle and Primary Officials. Also present was the Main Director of IPCC, Sugeng Mulyadi and the Company's management.
In his speech, Sugeng Mulyadi expressed his gratitude for the trust given to IPCC in handling the delivery of this grant cargo. “We thank you for entrusting the IPCC to handle grant cargo from China. We hope that this step can strengthen sustainable cooperation between the two countries. "This is also in line with the IPCC's commitment to support the automotive sector and government programs in Indonesia," said Sugeng.
Chinese Ambassador, Mr. Wang Lutong emphasized that this grant is a concrete manifestation of China's commitment to support Indonesia in fighting transnational narcotics trafficking. "This collaboration is an implementation of the agreement between the two heads of state to combat drugs which threaten the nation's generation. "This is an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and China," he said. This device grant covers high-tech vehicles equipped with integrated tomography, a technology capable of detecting illegal items hidden, both in luggage and on the human body. This technology is designed for use in strategic locations such as airports, ports and border posts.
Head of BNN RI, Marthinus Hukom, expressed his appreciation for the support provided. "This grant is the real result of bilateral cooperation that began in September 2019. After going through various stages, including signing a letter of exchange in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this handover document was finally signed today. "This assistance will strengthen efforts to eradicate drugs, especially in vulnerable areas," he said. As a first step, BNN plans to place this device in three strategic locations, namely Bakauheni Harbor (Lampung), Tanjung Perak Harbor (East Java), and Batam Harbor (Riau Islands). These devices will be operated by personnel who have undergone intensive training to ensure optimal use of the technology.
Apart from these sophisticated vehicles, the grant also includes a high-tech robot dog equipped with e-nose, e-eye and e-sense features. This robot is capable of detecting narcotics, precursors and explosives with high speed and accuracy. Designed with agile movement capabilities, this robot can reach difficult areas to support the tasks of personnel in the field more effectively. With the implementation of this grant, the IPCC, BNN RI and the Chinese Government hope to create a more effective system for detecting, preventing and eradicating drug trafficking in Indonesia. The IPCC also hopes to continue to be a trusted partner in supporting the government's strategic initiatives, both at the national and international levels. As part of its corporate social responsibility, IPCC is determined to actively contribute to creating a safer and healthier environment, which has an impact on sustainable development in Indonesia.
